The upholstery: this is an essential element where you should not cut back on when choosing an office chair! Fabric? Leather? Artificial leather? We'll take a closer look at all three to help you make the right choice.
The office chairs in leather
Elegant, luxurious, strong... It is the Rolls Royce of the office chairs. This chair is usually reserved for directors or executives, but in the end nothing is set in stone. After all, we all have a butt.
The high-quality swivel chair in leather has many qualities: it is sturdy, easy to clean, feels nice... and it's great! There are many different types of leather and most darken over time, making for a very sympathetic vintage look.
However, this chair is a lot more expensive than its little comrades and can feel a little "cold" in the winter, while in the summer you "stick" to it when wearing shorts or skirts.
The office chairs in imitation leather
It looks like leather, but it isn't... Yet the days of the Skaï from the 80s are over: today manufacturers are offering models of imitation leather in good quality, which would make some leather models blush. They too are capable of impressing.
The synthetic covers are very flexible and provide a pleasant seat. Icing on the cake: they are easy to clean: a sponge makes the most ugly stains disappear.
Even though this model has the same drawbacks as a leather model, i.e. the chair feels "cold" in winter and "sticks" in summer, it still offers a significant advantage over its direct competitor: the price.
The office chairs in fabric
Comfortable, aesthetic,... The office chairs in fabric offer an excellent price-quality ratio. You can also choose the color as opposed to leather chairs, where black is the most sold color: it's a detail that can be the deciding factor if you have specific decorative requirements for your office.
They ensure a pleasant contact, and most of them are antiperspirant (get the shorts and skirts out of the closet already!). The fabric office chairs have a fabric or mesh backrest: they are flexible, very comfortable and guarantee good support for the back.
However, a fabric office chair does require good maintenance. Vacuuming every now and then is definitely recommended to scare away bugs such as house mites. You will also find it more difficult to remove stains than with leather or artificial leather.
Well, will it be leather or rather fabric?
