But often, some of the participants can meet in person, while others are working from home. The challenge? Getting everyone to hear each other clearly! The problem: "hybrid" meetings

So-called "hybrid" meetings will become the norm after covid: often, some of the participants will be physically present and others will be remote, as teleworking becomes more and more common. And this poses a real technical problem: when several people are sitting around the table, only one person can connect to those who are teleworking. So the sound only comes from that computer, and that is usually not audible enough for everyone. Also, when one of the participants around the table wishes to speak, he or she is often too far from the computer and the teleworkers cannot hear him or her. On the other hand, it is difficult to hear what the teleworker is saying, as the computer's loudspeaker is not powerful enough ... In short, it is a real hassle to hold calm and constructive meetings!

The solution: the speakerphone

There is a plan B: everyone connects and wears a headset in the same meeting room... but hey, you can say goodbye to sociability! No, the real solution is the speakerphone. In other words, a device that acts both as a transmitter via the mini speaker and as a receiver via a microphone.

Putting this into practice

I tested Jabra Speak with my team and honestly, it makes a difference! This speakerphone is very easy to use: plug it into one of the computers and place it in the middle of the conference table. The microphone works in all directions with a 360-degree range and it picks up voices from at least 6 meters away without any problems.

Final assessment

No more chatter and misunderstandings! Whether you are on site at the meeting table or working from home, everyone can hear the discussion or presentation and participate at any time. The speakerphone is very practical and the sound quality is excellent. As a result, meetings run smoothly! For me, it is an indispensable tool today and it will be even more so tomorrow. I recommend it!
